The state of Ohio requires school districts to form Business Advisory Councils. The Akron Public Schools BAC is one of the most active in the state.

The council shares its collective business expertise with APS by providing mentoring and solutions for improving the efficiency of our business functions. The council has completed studies of the business affairs department and is working with the district's information services and human capital departments as well as developing a district-wide customer service program.
