Brand New! Arkansas State Literacy Intervention Page

This site is amazing! It has a matrix of interventions with clear specific directions and materials. Each lesson/ intervention is presented in a step-by-step format with implementation and evaluation protocols (as relevant), descriptions of the types of students or student problems addressed by the intervention, and ways to adapt the intervention for students in need of Tier II, III, IV, and V supports. A unique characteristic of this website is its inclusion of interventions for students with low incident disabilities such as autism, deafness, and blindness. It offers strategies for grades K-12.

It is free to register, but if you just want to check it out, you can use Pyramid for the username and AkronOhio for the password. Please contact either one of the data coaches for tips on how to use this site. A HUGE thanks to Bonnie Horovitz for sharing this with us. There are also Math, PBS supports and questionaires and RTI support.

   Journey North
Seasonal change is all around us. Children see it in the length of a day, in the appearance of a flower, in the flight of a butterfly. Journey North is a free internet-based program that explores the interrelated aspects of seasonal change.
This site offers teaching ideas that support content area reading.

Free Rice is a website that quizzes students with content area vocabulary, moving them up levels as they answer questions correctly. This could be used to progress monitor students on their content area vocabulary. Plus for every correct answer, 10 grains of rice will be donated to the World Food Program.
