SCHOOLWIDE PROGRAMS

ESEA Title I buildings that design a Title I Schoolwide Program offer intervention strategies for all students to provide additional help to meet state standards.

Strategies may include:
  • Intervention Personnel
  • Extended Day Programs
  • Extended Year Programs
  • Instructional Resources
  • Professional Development opportunities
  • Parent Involvement Activities
  • Student Programs
  • Class Reduction Teachers
  • Reading Recovery

 

Ten Components of a Schoolwide Program:

  • Comprehensive needs assessment
  • Scientifically research-based schoolwide reform strategies implemented
  • Instruction by highly qualified teachers
  • High quality ongoing professional development
  • Strategies to attract highly qualified teachers to high need buildings
  • Strategies to increase parent involvement
  • Preschool transitions (i.e. preschool to Kindergarten, fifth to sixth, eighth to ninth)
  • Teachers involved in decisions regarding academic assessments
  • Additional assistance provided to low performing students
  • Coordination and integration of federal, state and local services and programs

 

 

 

TARGETED ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

  • Intervention Personnel
  • Extended Day Programs
  • Extended Year Programs
  • Instructional Resources
  • Professional Development opportunities
  • Parent Involvement Activities

 

Ten Components of a Targeted Assistance Program:

  • Needs assessment

  • Student eligibility based on multiple academically related objective criteria
  • Strategies to increase parent involvement
