Mathematics Position Statements
The content for all APS Mathematics courses have been grouped in Units. A Unit is a major topic for students will build understanding. Unit Shells have been created for APS teachers by APS teachers to collect in one location resources to assist the planning and instructing process.
As students struggle with understanding mathematics, research has concluded that the most effective strategies is providing more time. APS has worked to allow Blocked Mathematics classes for targeted students. If the classes with more time is taught like a single period class, we will get the same results. We must restructure our time to help intervene.
