A Vision of Mathematics in the APS Classroom


A Learning Environment in which Conceptual Understanding provides the framework for Mathematical Procedures.

Students are able to communicate mathematically, make connections within mathematics and between mathematics and other fields.

Teachers are continually engaged in professional development, striving to improve instructional strategies.

All Students Will:

Be Actively engaged. Communicate their ideas. Written – poster paper, overheads, learning logs Oral – presentations and discussions Use a variety of strategies to solve problems. Attempt a wide variety of problems. Answering questions posed by facilitator. Evaluate their own work and the work of others.
