B7 Requests
In order to process B7 requests in the most efficient manner, the following procedures and clarifications are presented.
Send all B7s for the following services directly to the Facilities Services office:
- Audio-visual requests (please provide make, model, serial number and location of all audio-visual equipment requests);
- All carpenter requests, interior or exterior – to include roof repairs and brick, block and all masonry repairs;
- All electric requests;
- All painting requests, including graffiti removals;
- All hardware requests, including all key and lock repairs and installations; and
- All plumbing requests.
All B7s are to have proper written signatures (not stamped):
- Principal or building manager;
- Custodian;
- With a department request, please include the department head's signature; and
- If a service is initiated at one point and will take place at a second point, we would appreciate a signature from the receiving point. This way, someone at the building will be knowledgable; and we can save time.
Call-in requests for service are reserved for emergencies only. All foremen have been so instructed.
Facilities Services is to be immediately notified in all cases of emergency.
All requests for maintenance services are processed in the following order:
- Emergencies – services which affect the immediate health, safety or welfare of the students or staff
- Services which directly affect a program or curriculum
- Services which affect esthetics or are a convenience
These requests are generally processed in the order they are received, based on the above assigned priority.
Other factors which alter response time include budget restrictions, the number of personnel employed in that shop, difficulty, or the job and availability of repair parts.
