Essential Functions:
90% Assists Assistants to the Architects with projects and provisions of CAD drafting (as-built drawings and field verification as required); updates and maintains all Master Building Floor plans on CAD; maintains small scale Floor Plan Book; providing interface with various departments and consultants; transfers building sites and elevations to electronic CAD files and field verification as required; assists other departments in presentation drawings, such as city maps of school clusters and attendance zones, door contacts and mother detector locations; operates plotter and other related specialized and regular office equipment.
10% Various general office/administrative responsibilities, including maintaining Building Data information, flat Drawing Files and Drawing File Index Book.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities
Specific responsibilities within the context of building-wide displays shall be mutually determined by the contract recipient and the building principal. Mutual agreement concerning the specific responsibilities should include -- but is not limited to -- the following: The type of displays that are to be created (bulletin board, display case, etc.) The minimum number of displays of each type that are to be created for the school year. The frequency with which displays are to be changed. The content of the displays that are to be changed, (teaching/student work/informative, etc.). The identity of those persons who are to have input into the content of the displays (individual classroom teachers, Building Leadership Team, Principal, etc.). The method by which supplies are to be obtained and paid for. The time outside the regular school day during which the responsibilities for this Limited Supplemental Contract will be performed. How unanticipated requests for displays will be handled.

Assists High School Athletic Director.
Trains and advises a varsity squad of a minimum of six students; advisor is also to advise a reserve squad for the purpose of developing a better program. Conducts daily practice of a minimum of one hour, five days per week (note: practice time on any one day may be substituted by participation at a competitive event). Season for cheerleading advisors begins one week prior to the opening of school and ends with Spring try-outs (note: Spring try-outs may be conducted anytime after the State Tournament -- boys/girls, whichever tournament ends the basketball season). Attends, with cheerleading squad, all athletic events at which the squad will participate. Attends organizational meetings as required by the Director of Interscholastic Athletics. Conducts yearly try-outs each Spring for the purpose of selecting next year's squad. School constitutions pertaining to cheerleading must be on file in the office of the Director of Interscholastic Athletics by September 15 of each school year. Advisors will assume responsibility for any other related duty not explained in this description that either the principal or the Director of Interscholastic Athletics may request.
Attends and participates in all rehearsals and band camp in August in preparation for football marching band and the performances and rehearsals that follow in August, September, October and November. Assumes all responsibilities for the band director in his/her absence. The assistant band director should meet with the band approximately 70 times, a minimum of 20 times in August, 20 times in September, 20 in October and 10 in November. Executes all related responsibilities as directed by the band director, the building principal, or Learning Specialist supervising music education.
25% Instructional Leadership: Support teaching and learning through adherence to the Ohio Administrative Standards (ISLLC Standards) and operate in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Standards. The level of administrative performance is determined through Component Performance Tables (Rubrics) provided in the evaluation document which are aligned to the Standards. Responsible for assisting the principal in the process of coordination, implementation and evaluation of district and school Continuous Improvement Plan, staff development, curriculum, student programming, teaching and learning environment, attendance, discipline and supervision/evaluation of all staff.
25% Administration: Responsible for assisting the principal with the management and compliance of all federal, state and local laws, policies and procedures including fiscal matters, special education, counseling issues and communication to stakeholders.
20% Building Operations: Responsible for assisting the principal with management, supervision and implementation of matters related to the physical plant, health and safety of students and staff, supplies, materials, equipment, textbooks and transportation.
20% Community and School Relations and Resources: Liaison and active participant in the planning, facilitation and implementation of school and community partnerships including parents/PTA/volunteers, Social Agencies, Service Agencies, Business, University and internal departments.
10% Community/Parents: Liaison and active participant between schools and community including PTA/volunteers, business fundraising, social agencies (CSB, Child Guidance), colleagues (Art in Business, May Festival, cluster meetings), service agencies, University participation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with supervising students and oversees disciplinary procedures, keeping records of disciplinary action, assist with implementing all supervisory duties according to district policies and applicable laws.

Serves, as requested, as a liaison to data processing, juvenile court, Alternative School, TPC, PTA and such other groups or institutions as may be requested by the principal, such as implementation of CIP goals and tactics.

35% Construction Documents: prepare contract documents of project manuals which consist of construction drawings and specifications together with bidding requirements into their final form; coordinate engineering drawings and specifications into their integrated final form with the architectural component; evaluate and finalize material selections; evaluate, finalize and approval of final construction budget.
25% Construction Administration: administrate the construction by orchestrating construction operations and activities; act as the owner's agent for construction use of the building and site; review and approve of the selected construction materials; undertake selection of construction material colors; review and approve of contractor prepared shop drawings; monitor and evaluate the construction in progress and act as the interpreter of the contract documents; act as the trouble-shooter and problem solver for encountered construction problems; evaluate and approve of contractor requests for payment; assist in the conduction of final inspections and acceptance of the work; certify substantial completion of the project and acceptable commencement of occupancy; act as the post-construction designee to receive complaints and initiate requests for warranty repairs.
15% Schematic Design: research and evaluation of project concept and program; qualitative and quantitative data gathering on existing construction and educational specifications; building code and engineering evaluation for translation into an architectural schematic design; acquire the assistance of consultants, experts and governmental jurisdictions where required for evaluation of the architectural concept.
15% Design Development: continuation of schematic design process to bring design to a more finite and tangible solution; synthesize architectural, building code and engineering evaluations into a competent solution; undertake fiscal analysis of architectural and engineering design development for budgetary control and approval; conduct design development through internal and external approval process.
5% Bidding: undertake the State of Ohio mandated bidding process via distribution of project manuals to contractors; conduct submission of project manuals to various controlling governmental jurisdictions for zoning, construction and occupancy and secure their approval for various permit issuance; conduct information dissemination, answer inquiries and make interpretations of project manual information to all parties connected with the project bidding and construction process; evaluate bids tendered for compliance with state guidelines and adherence to budget; evaluate bidders, subcontractors and materials identified for use; assist in converting the bid data into contract form.
5% Administration: perform duties as administrator and representatives of the Architect's Office at public and private functions and activities; act as liaison between the Architect's Office and other Akron Board of Education departments; perform general office/administrative responsibilities relative to office environment, document archiving and filing, resource library and other related archives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Acts as the Owner's agent to coordinate and orchestrate construction concepts and construction activities among: Akron Board of Education Departments, Contractors and Subcontractors, Government Jurisdictions, Engineers-Consultants-Experts. Carries out coordination and orchestration responsibilities in accordance with school district policies, applicable laws and construction contract documents and within the distinct legal implications within the architectural profession.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
35% Directs the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable Department and Centralized Accounting for Student Activity Funds. Oversees the establishment of new vendors and ensures that Tax Payer identification numbers are obtained on IRS W9 forms. Approves purchase requisitions in the absence of the Treasurer. Directs the Accounts Receivable operations for the district.
15% Develops and manages investment strategies and portfolio for district funds that generates annual revenues. Oversees the reconciliation of all bank accounts. Secures depository bids from financial institutions in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
15% Prepares financial reports. Assists with Budget preparation and annual spending plan. Determines the allowable indirect costs that can be charged against federal programs. Calculates the excess costs to be charged for educating special education students out of the district. Provides financial data for the completion of the annual Medicaid cost report. Runs, analyzes and interprets financial status reports for personnel. Initiates and responds to annual board of revision tax valuation cases.
10% Processes all unemployment claims, reports and payments. Attends all unemployment hearings.
10% Serves as liaison for the annual State of Ohio audit. Responds to queries from state auditors by running various financial reports. Assists with the compilation of data for GAAP reports. Attends post audit conferences and take appropriate action/s to resolve citations notes by examiners.
5% Convenes the Records Commission annually to review proposed records submitted for destruction. Maintains inventory of stored records awaiting disposal in accordance with state guidelines. Designs and maintains inventories of required financial forms, checks and receipt books.
5% Assists with hiring, training and evaluating of Treasurer's Office personnel and conducts on-going financial training classes for APS staff.
5% Prepares and files IRS 1099 year end forms and reports for independent contractors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises 3 Account Clerk III's; 2 Account Technicians; 1 Account Clerk IV. Carries out all supervisory duties according to district policies and applicable laws.
Prepares the athletic budget with the Principal's approval. Assists Coaches with equipment requisitions and orders following the Principal's approval. Administers, in cooperation with the school treasurer, all matters of athletic finance. Supervises the sale of tickets within the school; assists the Program Manager of Athletics in the distribution of tickets and return of proceeds; completes the proper ticket financial reports, as necessary. Prepares original eligibility lists, in conjunction with the head coach, for each sport in season. Sends to the office of the Program Manager of Athletics a copy of the eligibility list one week prior to the first scheduled contest of the sport. Distributes eligibility sheets to opponents (other than those in City Series or Greater Akron League) and to the office of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, when requested. Assures that either the Head Coach or the building Athletic Director keeps on file the Ohio High School Participation cards, signed by parents. Assists coaches in checking eligibility of athletes each grading period. Assures that coaches maintain an inventory of all athletic equipment. Assures that coaches clean, repair and store all athletic equipment. Provides for parking and seating of spectators, bands, and news media. Supervises and assists as necessary in maintaining proper playing conditions of contest sites, such as marking the fields and providing a scoreboard, public address system, and any other item that is necessary for the operation of the contest.
