Open Enrollment Period
The open enrollment application period for Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts – as well as the National Inventors Hall of Fame® School ... Center for STEM Learning and the Firestone High School International Baccalaureate, visual and performing arts, and pre-engineering programs – ended on Friday, January 6, 2012. The K-12 open enrollment application period for the 2012-13 school year is January 3 to February 3, 2012.

Open enrollment applications are also available in all Akron public schools, the Administration Building, the Ott Staff Development Center, the Main Library and some library branches.
Open enrollment applications must be returned in the original hard-copy form. Faxes are not accepted. It is essential that parents/guardians read the entire open enrollment application along with the rules and guidelines on the back of the application. The rules and guidelines are also available through a link on the left side of this page.
Students may attend another school only if they complete an open enrollment application and that application is approved. Parents are notified in writing whether or not the application is approved. Each school receives a list of approved open enrollment students to that school.
