Curriculum ELA 6-12

Collections was adopted by Akron Public Schools as the  ELA curriculum for grades 6-12 and implemented in the fall of 2015.
Collections is a research-based curriculum aligned to Ohio's New Learning Standards. Its comprehensive program provides a multi-faceted digital and print approach that transcends the traditional anthology and resonates with today’s students.   Collections responds to the instructional shifts demanded by rigorous new standards for English Language Arts and designed to help students analyze complex text, extract evidence, reason critically, and communicate thoughtfully.  These are must-have skills for students to be prepared for college and career.

Collections in your classroom:

  • Active and engaged learning with a blended digital and print approach
