Scholarships 2016-2017

 

APS Innovation Generation Scholarship (no deadline): collaboration between The University of Akron and Akron Public Schools could provide a 100% tuition-free scholarship for four years at The University of Akron; contact your school counselor to determine your eligibility.

OMNOVA/Yasinsky Scholarships (March 28): For more information, download the application and checklist.

KidGuard Scholarship Contest (March 31): Multiple scholarships are available, ranging from $500-$1,000; applicants must be in grades 11 or 12 and must submit an essay on the topic of cyberbullying.

Junior Women's Civic Club Scholarship (March 31): Three scholarships ($2,000 each) will be awarded to female students who volunteer, have proven themselves academically and have a financial need.

Fluorine Chapter of Iota Sigma Pi BP Scholarship (March 31): The $2,000 non-renewable scholarship is available for young women in their senior year of high school who have demonstrated exceptional promise as future scientists.

Summit County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship (April 1): This $1,000 scholarship is available to students pursuing an education degree.

Vivint Smart Home Scholarship (April 1): Vivint Smart Home is offering a $5,000 scholarship to a high school student or college student and not based on financial need. Click on the link above for eligibility requirements.

The Accomplished Achiever and the Bobby G. Sanders Memorial Scholarships (April 15): The scholarships provide financial assistance for graduating seniors in The Cleveland Metropolitan (CMSD) area and Akron School Districts who have the desire to further their education by attending an accredited institution of higher learning. Aultman Health Foundation (May 1): Two nursing/radiography scholarships will be awarded for the Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and a third scholarship is available for a minority student attending an accredited institution for an IT-related field of study. Scholarships will be awarded upon the successful completion of one semester.

Jean Thomas Lambert Foundation Scholarship (May 12): The scholarship covers tuition and related academic expenses to a college or university up to $3,000 per semester, renewable for three years if grades are maintained; download the guidance counselor letter and application.

Medical Mutual Scholarship Fund (May 31): This is a one-time $500 scholarship toward tuition; apply at tinyurl.com/MedMutual17. For questions, email scholarshipmanager@columbusfoundation.org.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program (June 12): Up to $1,000 will be awarded, based on the submission of an essay.

Parry and Pfau Left-Handed Scholarship (July 31): Partners in a Las Vegas-based law firm are looking to give back to the community. As both are left-handed, they are offering a Left-Handed Scholarshiop for $1,500. Information about the scholarship and a link to the official rules and application form may be found on the website.

Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarships (August 15): Four $500 scholarships to males with a 3.0 GPA attending Cleveland State; apply at www.csuohio.edu/SigEp. More information is available in the brochure, flier and guidance letter.
