Hyre students were involved in a PBL at Hampton Hills and Highland/Dover national parks. They conducted Phosphorous, Ph and Nitrogen tests on the soil and used the data collected to formulate hypotheses about the results of reforestation on those environments. On November 20th, the students presented their findings to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Rangers at Hyre CLC.

Fifty teachers were nominated as Building Teachers of the Year. Of those 50, eight were selected as finalists for Teacher of the Year. To showcase why these very special individuals were chosen, this video montage was constructed and was shown during the 2012 Teacher of the Year Banquet on May 22, 2012.
