On May, 23, 2103, second- and third-Grade students at Judith A. Resnik Community Learning Center held a very special patriotic performance. This year's Spring program, Celebrate Ohio, was clever and creative. Thank you to all the staff and parents who helped put it together.
The 2013 Teacher of the Year Banquet took place at Quaker Station on May 21, 2013. Fifty teachers were nominated as Building Teachers of the Year. Of those 50, eight were selected as finalists for Teacher of the Year. Thank you, teachers, for all of the hard work you do every day.

APS' annual Teacher Recognition ceremony was held last night (May 21, 2013) to honor all teachers and personally recognize some of the best in the business. #1 at APS is Timothy Zolyniak, music teacher extraordinaire at East Community Learning Center. May Festival took place at Firestone High School on May 7, 2013. The performances took place by elementary choir students, the Middle School Honors Choir, Firestone Jazz Band, Firestone and Kenmore Honors High School Choirs and the Visual and Performing Arts dance students. Students' artwork were also on display.
The first annual Race for Case one-mile fun run/walk took place on Saturday in Akron. More than 500 registrants participated, sponsored by and for the benefit of the Case Elementary School PTA, and raised $10,000 toward technology purchases for the school.
The Mobile Discovery Center, sponsored by the National Science Center and the U.S. Army, rolled into Buchtel CLC on April 18 to give students an electrifying reprieve from the grueling preparation of standardized test-taking season. The 65-foot-long portable classroom dished out 50-minute science demonstrations for groups of 35-40 attentive middle school students. High school students visited the Mobile Discovery Center on April 19.
