On the menu at Firestone: Soul food and "The Color Purple"

Firestone's stage parents group will host a soul food fundraiser dinner Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in conjunction with the school's performance of "The Color Purple." The play runs from Wednesday, Oct. 10, through Saturday, Oct. 13. The soul food dinner (fried chicken, mac-'n'-cheese, green beans, cornbread, pound cake and lemonade) will be offered on Saturday only, with seatings at 5 and 6 p.m. Dinners are $10 for one, $18 for two or $30 for a family of four; and reservations are required. Proceeds will benefit theater activities at the high school. Show times are: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10; 7:30 p.m.Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 11-13; and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.
