It’s a celebration! Come join us as LeBron, the LeBron James Family Foundation, Akron Public Schools and Mayor Plusquellic celebrate our Wheels for Education classes of 2021 and 2022. We will be kicking off the new school year with a day of ball park fun and a special recognition of LeBron, given by Mayor Plusquellic.
The event reinforces the class of 2021’s participation and welcomes the new class of 2022 to the Wheels for Education program. Students and their families will experience a minor league baseball game as our hometown Akron Aeros take on the Reading Phillies. During the game, students will participate in on-field activities including a “kids run” which allows them to storm the baseball diamond and run around the outfield.
The event culminates with an address from LeBron to “his kids,” as he affectionately calls them. In his address, he will remind them of the promise they made with each other and reinforce the importance of their education and living an active, healthy lifestyle.
