A Place to Learn, Love and Prepare

These words have become Principal Joan Thompson’s mantra concerning the newly opened David Hill Community Learning Center.

When you think about what exactly a community learning center should be, these words couldn’t come any closer.

As soon as you walk through the doors, you can’t help but feel embraced by a strong attention to detail and a strong feeling of dedication.

“Everyone who walks into the building shares with me and my staff how warm and inviting this school makes them feel,” said Thompson. “This is our home.”

The center is available to residents, families and students for a wide variety of activities after hours.

“Our community programs and their personnel work directly with our homeroom teachers. If a student has a particular need, we address it,” said Thompson. “We have great relationships.”

As far as students are concerned, they can expect a wonderful nurturing and learning environment.

“I can’t wait to see their faces every day,” said Thompson.
