Jennings CLC held a Cultural Fair involving the entire school. The fair's goal was to familiarize students with the multitude of cultures that are represented at Jennings CLC. The event included a variety of food samples, henna tatoos and literacy tables where each student could choose a book to take home.

Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts opened in the fall of 1993, following a parent, student and staff interest survey which indicated community support for a visual and performing arts school. It is named in honor of Akron's first African-American principal, George C. Miller.
