The Building Leadership Team at Findley CLC implemented “Breakfast in the Classroom” service for 2012-13. As a result of this new approach to school breakfast, Findley CLC is feeding 400-450 students each morning—an increase of 100+ kids each day—in a calmer, less chaotic environment. The Findley CLC staff, students and parents are happy with the results, which include reduced discipline problems, reduced visits to the school nurse, more time to eat breakfast, and students who are well-nourished and better able to behave and succeed in the classroom. As one teacher puts it, “We never want to go back to the old way!” Congratulations, Findley CLC!

On Thursday, September 22, 2011, thousands of fathers, foster fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, godfathers, cousins, and other significant male caregivers and mentors will walk or drive their children to school to show their support of their children's education. Fifty-three teachers were nominated as Building Teachers of the Year. Of those 53, eight were selected as finalists for Teacher of the Year. To showcase why these very special individuals were chosen, this video montage was constructed and was shown during the 2011 Teacher of the Year Banquet on May 24, 2011.
