APS: Project RISE Gets Knit Sets

by Rene Garrett

Knitting Knights Ministry of the Chapel delivered 90 hand-made scarves to Project RISE. Each scarf was paired with a cuddly stuffed animal to comfort children and youth experiencing homelessness. This group, which also includes the Sumner Souls from the Concordia at Sumner retirement village, meets at The Chapel and creates hand-knitted projects for charitable causes. The ladies also brought in several sets of Christmas socks and mittens/gloves. For more information about Project RISE, contact program manager Debra Manteghi at 330.761.2730 or dmantegh@akron.k12.oh.us.
