Robert J. Kubick Jr. (Ph.D., NCSP, SP527) is the school psychologist for Jennings Community Learning Center, Bettes Elementary School, Akron Alternative Academy and Akron Opportunity Center. Dr. Kubick received his bachelor's degree (B.S.) from Syracuse University, his master's degree (M.S. Ed.) from The University of Akron and his doctorate (Ph.D.) from Kent State University. He holds dual licensure as a school psychologist from the Ohio Department of Education and the State Board of Psychology, as well as being credentialed as a nationally certified school psychologist through the National Association of School Psychologists.
Dr. Kubick previously served as president of the Ohio School Psychologists Association and the Kent-Akron Association of School Psychologists. He has been the editor of The Ohio School Psychologist for the past several years and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for School Psychology Review. Dr. Kubick has written numerous book chapters, journal articles and other scholarly pieces on topics such as behavioral assessment and intervention, special education and school law, wellness promotion, and alternative schooling options. In 2010-11, the Ohio School Psychologists Association named Dr. Kubick the Ohio School Psychologist of the Year.
