The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) recently awarded certifications to: Rosemary Floccari, literary coach at Barrett and Hatton; Judith Maver, counselor at Ellet; and Anna Panning, fifth-grade teacher at Rankin. The NBPTS awards the title of National Board Certified Teacher to educators who go above and beyond basic requirements for state licensing, and the process takes 1-3 years to complete. Floccari, Maver and Panning were part of the 2011 class of 6,266 teachers who achieved certification, bringing the national total to 97,291.
