
To celebrate America Recycles Day on November 15, Keep Akron Beautiful and the River Valley Paper Company are hosting the second annual mixed paper drive competition in 29 APS schools. The month-long competition runs from October 17 through November 18, 2011. Community members and businesses are encouraged to take magazines, phone books, paperboard, catalogs, junk mail, office paper, newspaper and cardboard to a bin at their local school. Bins are located at: Helen Arnold CLC, Barrett, Betty Jane CLC, Buchtel, Case, Crouse CLC, East CLC 7-8 Campus, East CLC 9-12 Campus, Ellet, Findley CLC, Firestone, Firestone Park, Forest Hill CLC, Garfield, Glover CLC, Hatton, David Hill CLC, Hyre CLC, Innes CLC, Jennings CLC, Kenmore, Roswell Kent, Leggett CLC, Litchfield, Miller South, North, Resnik CLC, Seiberling and Voris CLC. The top elementary, middle and high schools to recycle the most paper per pound/per student win a prize (the elementary winner earns a school-wide pizza party, and the middle and high school winners earn a $500 cash prize and a field trip tour of the River Valley Paper Company for 50 students and faculty).
