
The National Inventors Hall of Fame® School ... Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Learning scheduled its community open house for the 2012-2013 school year for Thursday, November 15, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Current fourth graders who will be entering the fifth grade or Akron Public Schools teachers who would like to learn more about this innovative learning environment are invited to participate in the school’s STEM showcase that will occur throughout the open house. Visitors can stop by, take a tour, observe student work, meet NIHF-STEM learning coaches, witness a robotics demonstration and watch student-led demonstrations.
Opened in 2009, the NIHF-STEM School is designed to be a unique and comprehensive STEM middle school that promotes problem-based learning. While the focus is on science, technology, engineering and mathematics, NIHF-STEM learners’ curriculum also includes music, art and a foreign language, Chinese.
