AkronReads has more than 50 tutors from Summa Health Care who volunteer at the school each week.
Students who pass the third-grade reading achievement and fourth-grade reading proficiency tests participate in the Walk of Fame. The entire staff celebrates the accomplishment with applause. Everyone stops to greet the students as they parade through the building.
Seiberling offers the Principal's Club. Students with the highest GPA in grades 3-5 are recognized in an assembly and eat lunch with the principal.
All students with perfect attendance receive a certificate signed by the principal and are first in line on pizza day.

Seiberling offers the supplemental reading program Scholastic Reading Counts, a computerized reading program that permits children to work independently.

Children and staff are nominated for PAKAS awards (Practicing Acts of Kindness at Seiberling) for demonstrating CHARACTER COUNTS!SM qualities. Recipients receive a certificate and a "good" call home from the principal.
Students receive tickets for completing homework. Each week, recipients' names are added to a drawing at the end of the week to receive prizes.

Fourth- and fifth-grade boys can join the HOOP basketball program (Hoping for Other Opportunities).
