What makes Windemere special?
Windemere has some of the top scores in the district! Windemere
met five indicators on the state report card.
Attendance is consistently high at Windemere and
surpasses the state mandate of 93%.
Windemere is growing! Extra classrooms were added to
accommodate the newest second- and fifth-graders to join
the Windemere family.
Windemere has a very strong, supportive PTA
volunteer program. PTA president Dave Gibson can be

Windemere has dedicated and highly-qualified
teachers and support staff.
Game Night, Scavenger Math Night, a Father-Daughter
Dance and bowling are some of the extracurricular
activities for students.
Windemere provides Title 1 tutors and extended-day
programs.
The new Windemere Community Learning Center is under
construction.
After-school care is provided by Y-SACC.
Teachers have an average of 24 years of experience,
and 75% hold a master's degree or higher.

Originally part of the Springfield Township Schools
Annexed by the Akron School District in 1929
Windemere was originally part of the Springfield
Township District. The school ― which is located on the
top of a hill ― was named for its location. Over the
years, students and teachers have claimed that it is the
windiest spot in Summit County.
