Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Eta Tau Lambda Chapter Scholarship: The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Eta Tau Lambda Chapter is sponsoring our Annual Scholarship Program in conjunction with the Alpha Library Committee, Inc. The program benefits graduating seniors from the Summit County schools. Since the inception of the scholarship program, we have awarded over $600,000 in scholarships to Summit County students to assist in the pursuit of higher education. Ann Sheldon College Scholarship Award: Renamed to honor the steadfast advocacy of our former executive director, Ann Sheldon. For any student who is about to enroll in his/her first year of college and/or a student currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program of an Ohio college. Deadline is April 15th.
Automotive Aftermarket Scholarship Central: Students can apply for hundreds of available scholarships to be awarded for the 2026-27 academic year to students training to become automotive, heavy-duty, or collision repair technicians or those studying IT/cybersecurity, engineering, business, or other courses in preparation for a career in the automotive field. Graduating high school seniors, full-time post-secondary students, and former recipients are welcome to apply. Each completed application is considered for all scholarships where the student meets the qualifications.
Becoming The Change Scholarship: Last year was a success with awarding two graduating seniors $500 each toward their college education. This year, we’re awarding $1,000 each! Applications are due by April 1, 2026, and the winners will be announced May 1, 2026.
Ears To You Scholarship: The Ears To You College/Trade School scholarships will be awarded to Ohio High School seniors, current college students OR trade/professional school students living in/from the following counties: Medina, Cuyahoga and Summit. You MUST have graduated from a HS in one of these three counties to be eligible. Awards will be determined after our spring gala and will be no less than $500.
Ernie Liska Memorial Scholarship: In loving memory of Ernest (Ernie) W. Liska and his devotion to God, country, and service to others, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Akron, Ohio has established The Ernie Liska Memorial Scholarship in order to provide financial assistance to individuals who plan to earn a college degree, university degree, or become certified in a vocational/building trade and aspire to utilize their education to serve their community.
Fields of Learning Scholarship: To encourage high school students from Ohio and other states to appreciate and write about their learning experiences related to high school football, and to reward as many of them as possible with financial aid for continuing education. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2026.
George C. Miller Scholarship Application: Graduate from a senior high school located in Summit County. Plan to enroll in a college or university for Fall 2026. Complete the Kappa Foundation Scholarship Award Application form. Email the scholarship application and all required documents (high school transcript and three letters of recommendation) before or by March 15, 2026, via email or mail. Submit three letters of recommendation (one must be from a high school staff member) on or before March 15, 2026, via email or mail. Complete entrance requirements and file application forms for enrollment to the college or university of the applicant’s choice by June 1, 2026. Ian Minnick Memorial Scholarship Application: The Ian Minnick Memorial Scholarship is awarded each spring to a graduating senior for $1,000 yearly for up to four years. The application is made in part through a visual or audio submission along with an interview for finalists with the Ian's Legacy Scholarship Committee. Applicants should be pursuing post-secondary education in music, digital media production, fashion, voice, dance, drama, photography or any other art form not mentioned. Attendance may be at a technical school, dance or art academy or a two or four-year college or university. The chosen candidate will have demonstrated creativity, focus, authenticity, confidence and commitment to their art.
Innovation Generation Scholarship (IGS): Students enrolled in Akron Public Schools who apply for admission to The University of Akron are automatically considered for the scholarship. After the Akron Public Schools' Board of Education approves the scholarship candidates, their names are sent to the University. Recipients will be notified of qualification by their school counselor during the spring of their senior year and the scholarship will post to the student account by mid-summer and prior to the fall bill.
Italian American Professional Business Club: The IAPBC awards a limited amount of $5,000 individual scholarships to graduating high school seniors attending a school in Summit County Ohio. The scholarship committee, appointed by the IAPBC president, will review applications and select scholarship recipients based on the application requirements and criteria. Scholarship awards are limited to members of the senior class of any secondary school in Summit County Ohio.
M.W. Harrington Scholarship: The M.W. Harrington Education Scholarship was established to support students who wish to become teachers in the Akron Public Schools with room, board, and tuition assistance. Students must be direct admits to the LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education at the University of Akron. This scholarship may be renewable if recipient remains in good standing with UA, maintains a minimum 3.0 grade point average and has a completed FAFSA on file. Students are required to complete the following:
- Application
- Essay summarizing why the student is interested in pursuing a degree in education and how they plan to give back by teaching in the Akron Public Schools.
- At least one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or employer.

Ohio Counties 2026 Scholarship Application: The Ohio Counties Scholarship is funded by the CCAO Research and Educational Foundation.Eligible recipients for this scholarship:
-Must be a high school senior;
-Must have at least a “B” average (cumulative) or equivalent overall GPA;
-Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of a county in Ohio; and
-Must plan to attend a university, community college, training program, or vocational school in Ohio.Applicants should plan on a career in public service in Ohio.
Sojourner Truth Legacy Scholarship: Are you an Akron Public Schools high school senior who has been accepted to attend college in the fall of 2026? Do you have an interest in studying any facet of journalism, public relations, marketing or communications? This is a $5,000 scholarship opportunity for you! The deadline is March 20, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
Summit County School Counselors Association Scholarship: This scholarship program is open to all students who attend a public district or private institution in Summit County. ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS (application and official transcript) MUST BE POSTMARKED OR SUBMITTED TO SCCA (NOT YOUR SCHOOL COUNSELOR) BY APRIL 17, 2026.
The PEARL Memorial Scholarship: We are excited to announce the PEARL Foundation Memorial Scholarship, which honors the memory of deceased members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Zeta Theta Omega Chapter. This scholarship is open to African-American high school seniors attending schools in Summit County. The Sims Scholars Award: The Sims Scholars Award for Aspiring Medical Professionals supports outstanding high school seniors who are committed to pursuing careers in the medical field. The scholarship awards $1,000 to a graduating senior entering a 2- or 4-year college or university to study a healthcare-related discipline. The award is renewable for up to four years for students who maintain strong academic performance and remain enrolled in a medically-focused degree program.
Sallie Mae - Scholly Scholarships: This resource has monthly scholarships that start as early as junior year and range in their requirements!
USDA 1890 National Scholars Program: USDA’s Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement (OPPE) manages the 1890 National Scholars Program, which is aimed at increasing the number of students from rural and underserved communities who study food, agriculture, natural resource and other related sciences. The scholarship provides recipients with full tuition, fees, books, room and board. Scholars attend one of the 1890 land-grant universities and pursue degrees in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or related academic disciplines. The scholarship may also include work experience at USDA.
