Back is Camp Creativity, where campers will explore their creative sides through literary, visual and performing arts. New this year will be a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) camp offering a Lego and Lux Blok Maker Camp. Camp Creativity will be facilitated by local teaching artists and educators in a week-long experience where participants will write, illustrate, make and present their own stories. Each day will end with a self-directed interactive exploration through the museum’s 20 exhibits. There are four sessions that run from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.: June 17-21 and July 22-26 for those 6-8 years old and June 24-28 and July 29-August 2 for those 9-12 years old. The STEM camp will be facilitated by Tyler Jones, a sixth-grade science teacher at Jackson Memorial Middle School, in a week-long camp designed to challenge and engage children who like to create unique original structures. This camp runs from July 8-12 for those 8-12 years old with both full-day (8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.) and half-day (8:30 a.m.-noon or noon-3 p.m.) options. You may register through the museum website. Museum members will receive a 10% discount. For more information, call 330.396.6103.
