Project Love is a school-based, character development initiative of Values in Action Foundation. Wednesday, July 10, 2019, it awarded its Celebration of Goodness honor to Akron Public Schools Superintendent David W. James, Ed.D.
The Celebration of Goodness luncheon is an annual, free event, founded by Sam Miller of Forest City Enterprises, to honor local community members for their contribution to the community, for principled leadership, and for setting an inspiring example for others to follow. The event is open to the public and attended by members of the business community and select students.
Members of the Akron School Board joined Dr. James at the luncheon; Board President Rev. Dr. Curtis T. Walker, Sr., introduced him to the group at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven.
Also honored were: Margot James Copeland of KeyBank Foundation; Majestic Steel USA and the Leebow Family; Bishop Nelson J. Perez of the Cleveland Catholic Diocese; and Judge Dan A. Polster of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
