The annual 10-day tournament features the winning teams from eight U.S. Regions and eight International Regions, all competing for a shot to be crowned Little League World Series Champion on August 25.

Kelly also worked her first NCAA Division I baseball game this past April and is believed to be the first female umpire to ever work an official NCAA Division I baseball game in the United States. Kelly has been a Little League volunteer umpire for 10 years now, as well as volunteering in other Little League capacities over the years. She is the first woman to umpire the LLBWS tournament since 2013 and just the sixth woman to officiate the tournament in its 80-year history. The Little League Baseball World Series will be televised again on ESPN this year, with all games being broadcast from August 15 through the World Series championship game on August 25.

Kelly resides in Hudson, and she and her husband Jeff have three sons. Kelly, an RN and a licensed biology teacher, is the Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science instructor at North High School at APS where she has taught for the last four years.

A native of Pittsburgh, she grew up in Erie, Penn., and graduated from Fairview High School. She is an alumnus of the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, Md.), the Catholic University of America (Washington, DC), and the University of Akron (Akron, Ohio). She is also a 2013 Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellow. Kelly is a veteran of the United States Navy, having achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander (O-4) while honorably serving our nation.
