Batty About Books Draws a Crowd

Book Lovers to Glover CLC

Families enjoyed an evening of books, a well-known local author, food and more at Glover CLC last night.

Glover's "Batty About Books" Literacy Night offered visitors a chance to enjoy noted author Conrad Storad who was there to talk about his book about bats and the writing process he went through in crafting the story.

Families also enjoyed the raffle of literacy baskets, the Akron Public Library's table where the library encouraged students to apply for library cards, and the school's Literacy Night learning stations.

Organizing and producing the event was Glover teacher Saundra Kolar. She said, "This was a wonderful night for our students, families and visitors to Glover CLC. We certainly had plenty to do and many fun activities for students to enjoy. I really must thank our friends at The Chapel. They're always so generous. Tonight, they brought all of the food," Kolar said. "We're very pleased with how many folks came out for Batty About Books!"

At the end of the evening, each child was given a book to take home.
