Early College is National Blue Ribbon School

Image of Akron Early College High School AwardAPS Akron Early College High School has been recognized in the nation's capital as a National Blue Ribbon School. At ceremonies in Washington, D.C., Friday, Early College Principal Cheryl Connolly and the school's Academy Principal Thomas O'Neil were honored to be presented with the prestigious honor.

Early College is an Akron Public Schools high school located on the campus of The University of Akron. For half of each school day, students attend classes for high school. The other half of the day finds them on the university campus taking college courses. When they graduate as seniors from Akron Early College HS, they have a high school diploma a two-year college degree.

Early College has been recipient of many academic awards and, most recently, was given an overall A Award from the State of Ohio Board of Education.
