Casual listeners may not have noticed any difference since the 65-year-old station, aka 91.3 The Summit, didn’t go off the air for any length of time. But after 41 years in the basement of the Conrad C. Ott Building, the popular local-focused AAA radio station under the aegis of Akron Public Schools has new state-of-the-art digs.
The old studios at the Ott building certainly had a cozy, lived-in feel with “vintage” gear and a unique atmosphere. The new studios, attached to the Ellet Community Learning Center that opened this past summer, are a massive upgrade.
