Image of STEAMWhile the Akron Children’s Museum is closed until it is determined safe to gather as a community again, its team is committed to the children and families of Northeast Ohio and is proud to offer digital learning and playtime experiences on its website:
  • STEAM Team (new every Mon.) at akronkids.org/hometime: Take the challenge and explore the museum’s fun approach to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) learning right in your own home. The museum team has adapted some of their favorite STEAM Team experiments and activities, so you can try them at home.
  • Little Monsters' Prescriptions for Play (new every Tues.) at akronkids.org/hometime: As a member of the Association of Children's Museums, Akron Children's Museum is proud to partner with Vroom, an initiative of the Bezos Family Foundation, to provide fun tips and activities for caregivers and kids, helping to turn everyday moments into learning moments.
Also, on its Facebook page, @AkronChildrensMuseum, community members are encouraged to follow along and engage with:
  • Virtual Bedtime Stories (new every Thurs.)
  • Weekly photo collage of our museum friends who share pics of their kids doing any of the activities during the week (new every Fri.)
  • Posts of our friend Mr. Jeff’s music watch parties (new every Wed.)
The team is still looking forward to its Golf Classic at Bunker Hill on Aug. 9, 2020, and its Grown-Up Play Date on Oct. 17, 2020. For event or ticket information, please visit akronkids.org.
