I hope all is well. As this school year comes to an end, I wanted to send some good news your way – Akron Public Schools had another amazing year supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through Pennies for Patients, and Leggett Community Learning Center was an incredible part of that!

Leggett CLC, under the leadership of Joe Donofrio, went above and beyond in the Pennies campaign, raising $1,859, more than they have ever raised before in 12 years of participation! A huge congratulations to Joe and the whole school – those funds benefit not only patients and their families in Northern Ohio but across the entire nation.

I’ve attached a certificate for you to sign and present to this amazing volunteer for all of his hard work. I would love to share his success with your superintendent as well if you have any contact information for him.

As you begin planning for what is sure to be another unprecedented year next year, I wanted to be sure you knew of the STEM and SEL curriculums provided free of charge to schools by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. As teachers adjust to distance learning and supplemental assignments, the LLS STEM/SEL curriculum is truly turn-key and will feature a mix of print, digital and video components to help teachers where they need it most. It was created with the guidance of CASEL and is aligned with Common Core and state standards.

Thanks for your leadership and all you do!
