Image of Wheels of OpportunityTo a young LeBron James, a bike was so much more than a set of wheels. For him, a bike meant mobility. It was access to safe places. It was a key to a bigger future. Since the LeBron James Family Foundation started its work nearly 16 years ago, bikes have continued to play a meaningful role in its I PROMISE program. While it has evolved to include deeper and richer programming, LeBron has never forgotten where he comes from, and the Foundation will never forget its roots.Image of Wheels of Opportunity

The free wheels tradition continued this week as the I PROMISE program’s newest class of third-graders received their brand-new, custom-painted Schwinn bikes along with a helmet and some other special back-to-school items. Thanks to the team at Dorel Sports and Schwinn Bikes, every student was able to drive through the IPS parking lot and leave with a new set of wheels, opening up doors to endless opportunities.

This is just the start of a whole new journey for LeBron’s third-graders and their families. One we know will be worth the ride.

We are family! (For more information, visit the LeBron James Family Foundation website.)
