Image of City of Akron logoPicture your art on Main Street! The City of Akron is looking for artists to submit their own interpretation of The Night Before Christmas and Celebrations of All Cultures.

Large storyboards will be on display for the holidays on Main Street. Be part of an opportunity to see your art displayed in an exhibit that thousands will see during the holiday season.

The City of Akron and Lock 3 will be creating an Outdoor Art Gallery for the Holiday Season. One direction will be a story walk of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas; the other will be titled Celebrations of the Holidays with artwork, each representing one of 12 holidays celebrated. QR Codes reading the story or educating about the holidays will be positioned by each piece. Original art will be auctioned off to provide funding for future art programs in Akron.

A variety of artists will be selected to provide their own interpretation of a verse from 'Twas the night Before Christmas or one of the Celebrations of the Holidays.

Artists will be provided a stipend of $250 to create the piece. The created piece will become the property of the City of Akron.

The piece must be created digitally or on 11x14 heavy smooth watercolor paper. The City of Akron can provide the paper if needed.
