A talented student artist from Jennings CLC captured the most votes for his artwork. Eighth-grader J-Cruz Munoz-Briones’ winning art entry is actually mounted on a plaque he received for garnering the most votes in Artsonia.com’s Artist of the Week competition. The 14-year-old DJ, as he is known at school, was among a dozen who were in the nationwide voting.
Not only does he receive a plaque, which will be on display in Jennings’ main office, DJ picks up a gift certificate for BLICK art supplies. Jennings CLC’s Academy Coach Kennie Green tells us the school’s art department also receives a prize for his work, a gift of $100 for its use.
DJ’s art teacher is Peyton Young.
Artsonia.com, on its website, describes itself as a “free, safe, educational program for students and families, as well as a comprehensive resource for art educators. We bring communities together to celebrate children's artistic expression.”
