
Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan and Lock 3 are thrilled to announce the City's Fourth of July plans, including the return of the Rib, White and Blue Festival and fireworks in several locations. The Rib, White and Blue Festival runs July 1-4 from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. in Lock 3 and includes vendors competing for Best Ribs, Best Sauce and People's Choice awards' bragging rights. Admission is free, and there will be a variety of fair food. No outside food or drinks are permitted, with the exception of the
DORA. Bring your own chair to enjoy free nightly concerts beginning at 7 p.m. A downtown fireworks display will conclude the festival, set to launch after the end of the Akron RubberDucks game. The Patterson Park Sports Complex and the Akron Executive Airport will launch their displays beginning at 9:45 p.m. Turn in to 97.5 FM WONE for updates and a patriotic soundtrack for the program.
Downtown parking is free beginning Friday, July 1, at 6 p.m.; and
