Congratulations to our Buchtel CLC 10th-grade scholars who participated in the Huntington Reality Day.
Many thanks to our Huntington leads--Ky Pegues, Jenn Kalla and Gail Bialek--along with the 21 volunteers who helped make this event possible to impact the 132 scholars in attendance.
During the event, students were introduced to every-day financial decisions using the FDIC's Youth Money Smart curriculum. Additionally, the students participated in an in-person simulation where they were responsible for keeping a budget based on a randomly selected career net monthly income. They also encountered several financial realities they may face in the future (i.e., having a high enough credit score to purchase the car or house of their choice). It was a great day for all involved.
