Image of Humanitarian Award CelebrationAPS scholar leaders Willen Bloss, Kaysie Anderson, Layna Mason and Cochise Griffin served as APS Ambassadors on the evening of December 6 at The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio 68th Annual Humanitarian Award Celebration Dinner at the Cleveland Downtown Hilton.

One week before the dinner, the APS scholar leaders participated in the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio online network course with other students from Northeast Ohio.

There were more than 750 attendees at the dinner. APS scholars greeted the attendees and participated in the dinner's welcome. Scholars will receive volunteer hours for their participation. As well, each scholar leader had her/his own table and business cards. Their framed pictures and bios were the centerpieces of their tables. Professional leaders were seated at the scholars' tables based on scholars' career interests. This allowed the scholars the opportunity to network with the professionals in their career interests during the dinner.

In addition, APS scholar leaders had the special opportunity to congratulate and celebrate with Carla Chapman, APS Chief Diversity Officer. She received the 2022 Lead Diversity Outstanding Alumni Award. Assistant Superintendent Tamea Caver, Ph.D., was also present at the dinner to support and celebrate with the scholar leaders!
