Patrick Dougherty and students Camille, Sandra and Maria put together an art project inspired by acclaimed pianist Joyce Yang. Joyce has a unique condition known as Synesthia that causes her to attribute different senses to unrelated things. For example, she could desribe a "word" as having a "taste" or a "sound" as having a "color." Joyce has a few videos on YouTube describing how she sees and memorizes music. Patrick and his students watched this video and were inspired to create a piece to illustrate how she sees music and honor her with it. The final piece will be on exhibit in E. J. Thomas Hall on September 11 when Joyce performs.
