
Due to high temperatures, Mayor Horrigan has announced that the City of Akron will open four community centers as cooling centers for the next two days (Tuesday, Sept. 4 and Wednesday, Sept. 5). The community centers will be open for extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“During this heat wave, families in need are invited to stop by and enjoy the air conditioning at these community centers, along with their many other amenities available to residents of all ages,” Mayor Horrigan said.
