Browns three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry walked down a hallway of the I Promise School in Akron and exchanged high fives with students lined up to greet him.

The school tweeted videos of Landry’s visit Tuesday, when Browns players had their usual day off practice.

Landry spoke to students and staff during an assembly and marveled at the resources provided by I Promise, which opened in late July to third- and fourth-graders through a partnership between the LeBron James Family Foundation and Akron Public Schools.

“It’s something, at your age, I wish I had,” Landry said. “I was born and raised in Louisiana, similar to this, similar to Akron, but this right here, this school, this community, it’s about to change things for a long time.

“LeBron is an idol of mine, and when I read about this, I reached out to my team and asked how I could be a part of it or just come by and speak, whatever it was, whatever I could do, and it’s an honor.”

Donning a T-shirt with the school’s “We Are Family” motto emblazoned on the front, Landry said, “This is something that I know a lot of kids around the world need.”

Landry is the school’s latest high-profile visitor — starting with James himself. Earlier this month, pop superstar Justin Timberlake and his wife, actress Jessica Biel, paid a visit, rolling into town the day after Timberlake’s concert at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

James took to Twitter on Tuesday night to thank Landry for visiting the school.

″@God_Son80 TRULY APPRECIATE YOU for taking the time out of your busy schedule to go see my kids @IPROMISESchool!!!” James wrote. “Meant so much to them. Already heard from them on how excited they were to see you. Thanks again my G!”
