The Sons of Italy Akron Lodge 685 hosted its seventh annual toy wrapping party Nov. 16 for Project RISE.
According to club officials, Project RISE helps students experiencing homelessness stay in school and on track. A collaboration among Akron Public Schools, local shelters and the community, Project RISE empowers students and families to improve the quality of their lives through educational, cultural and community support services and resources, according to program officials.

The Akron Lodge wrapped more than 250 gifts this year, which were distributed at Christmas time, club officials said.
