Safety Town Needs Volunteers

Help Needed at Both Sessions of Safety Town

Volunteers must be at least 16  years old,but those who are younger can volunteer with an adult. Akron Safety Town is a free, fun, hands-on educational program designed to teach young children about bicycle, bus, fire, playground, gun, dog, poison, stranger-danger, 911, crossing a street and other safety issues. This summer, the 2019 Akron Safety Town will be held at two locations: Resnik CLC (65 N. Meadowcroft Drive) from June 3-7 and Findley CLC (65 W. Tallmadge Ave.) from June 10-14. Safety Town is open to children who reside in the City of Akron and are entering kindergarten or first grade in fall 2019. Each session runs Monday-Friday with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and the program running from 9 a.m.-noon. Each child will receive an Akron Safety Town T-shirt and a bicycle helmet.
