2024-25 State Report Card
The Ohio School Report Card offers a statewide framework for understanding how local school districts are performing in key areas such as academic achievement, student progress, graduation rates, early literacy, and college and career readiness.
For Akron Public Schools, the latest report card provides an updated snapshot of district performance, highlighting areas of continued growth as well as more opportunities for improvement. These ratings help place the district’s progress in context. It shows how Akron schools are supporting student learning and meeting state expectations while guiding ongoing efforts to strengthen outcomes for all students.
With a continued focus on equity and improvement, Akron Public Schools will build on this progress to ensure every student is prepared for success in school, career, and life.

Early Literacy Measures/Indicators

We are focusing literacy and academic achievement through a Multi-Tiered System of Support that prioritizes Tier 1 explicit instruction, expanded core reading programs for primary grades, and professional development in vocabulary and opportunities to respond. This approach integrates subjects like science and social studies to ensure students can master literacy while staying on track for college credits and work-based learning.
