Demonstrating commitment to academic excellence and college readiness

Akron Early College High School (AECHS) is pleased to announce significant academic achievements, highlighting the school's dedication to providing students with the tools and opportunities for success in higher education and beyond.

This year, AECHS students achieved a record-high composite ACT score of 22.4, placing them in the 63rd percentile nationally. This above-average score signifies that our students outperformed 63% of all test-takers, a testament to their hard work and the school's rigorous academic program. This represents a substantial 1.5-point improvement over the previous year, demonstrating our commitment to continual improvement and academic growth.

Furthermore, all 89 sophomores successfully passed the Accuplacer English Composition test, solidifying their readiness for college-level writing. Additionally, 96% of our Algebra 2 students passed the Maplesoft math placement test, ensuring their eligibility for college math courses in the upcoming academic year.

"These results are a reflection of the collaborative effort among our dedicated faculty, staff and students," stated Principal Thomas O'Neil. "Our ELA and math teams have worked diligently to prepare our students for these critical assessments. We are committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement, empowering our students to achieve their full potential and confidently pursue their college and career aspirations. Achieving scores that place our students above the national average is a point of pride, but we will continue to strive for even greater success for each and every student."

AECHS remains dedicated to providing a comprehensive and challenging academic environment that prepares students for the demands of higher education and the opportunities of the future. We celebrate these achievements and look forward to continued growth and success.
