AEOP Junior Solar Sprint Cars National Competition

The national results of the Junior Solar Sprint competition (88 teams) were announced June 29 in Orlando, Fla.; and APS teams did well. Schumacher CLC earned a Top 10 Team designation, and Helen Arnold CLC earned a Top 16 Team designation. The Junior Solar Sprint is an official program of the Northern Ohio Rural STEM Collaborative in which school districts and partners work collaboratively to build a world-class K-16 STEM pipeline that produces innovative and creative STEM employable individuals. The Top 10 Team (NGA, the Schumacher CLC Fifth-Grade Team) includes team members Naomi Cooper and Gabriel Kuczynski and JSS teacher-advisers Stephanie Lipiatt and Paula Yarbour (Kate Fahey substituted for Paula Yarbour on the Orlando trip). The Top 16 Team (Airhead, the Helen Arnold CLC Fifth-Grade Team) includes team members Elaya Curry and Antonoyon Jefferson and JSS teacher-adviser Stephanie Lipiatt. Other participating APS schools include: David Hill CLC, Jennings CLC, Innes CLC, Mason CLC, Miller South and Seiberling CLC.
