Akron Public Schools Announces 2026 May Festival of the Arts at Akron Civic Theatre

May Festival of the Arts 2026

Akron Public Schools (APS) is proud to invite the community to celebrate the creativity and talent of its scholars at the 2026 May Festival of the Arts. This premier district showcase will take place on Tuesday, May 12, at the historic Akron Civic Theatre located at 182 S. Main Street.

The festival serves as a cornerstone event for the district, supporting the mission of Empowering Minds and Enriching Futures through the fine arts. The evening is designed to provide a professional platform for student artists and musicians to share their work with a broad audience. By hosting the showcase at the historic Akron Civic Theatre on May 12, the district provides scholars with the unique experience of performing in a premier venue that connects their creative achievements directly to the wider community.

This program illuminates a diversity of student talents, spanning a comprehensive art gallery and performances ranging from the Honors Jazz Ensemble to diverse musical showcases.

"The May Festival of the Arts is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and unique perspectives of our scholars," said Dawn Wilson, Content Supervisor, Fine Arts. "We are thrilled to return to the Civic Theatre to highlight the incredible artistic growth happening across our district."

Your presence and encouragement play a vital role in validating our students' dedication and helping them realize the profound impact of their creative contributions. We invite every family and neighbor to join us in celebrating these talented scholars as they take this inspiring step in their artistic journeys.
