Akron Public Schools made a name for itself last Wednesday and Thursday at the OHIO HOSA State Leadership Conference. After attending leadership workshops and competing all day on Wednesday, Garfield, North and Buchtel HOSA Chapters participated in the awards ceremony on Thursday at the Glass City Center in Toledo. Our students made history as the first APS students to be recognized for earning industry credentials in a pathway and ranking in the top ten or better in five events!

HOSA – Future Health Professionals, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America  is an international career and technical student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education.

Recognized for earning three or more industry credentials this school year:
Aubrey Rock
Alishan Motsayev
Milana Martin

Ranking as a top ten finalist:
Serena Kimball (10) - Healthcare Issues Exam
Team: Serena Kimball (10) and Chantel Lee (10) - CERT Skills Event
Milana Martin (11- STEM) - Second Place in the Medical Art Poster Event (Ohio only)
