Backpack Adventure at the Akron Zoo!

Get ready for the upcoming school year with the 2026–2027 APS Backpack Adventure!

Presented by Akron Public Schools and the Akron Zoo, this event is specifically for APS students entering grades K–5 for the 2026–2027 school year and their families.

Make sure you check your postal mail for a flyer that will serve as your ticket!

• Dates: Tuesday, August 11, 2026 OR Wednesday, August 12, 2026

• Time: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Doors close at 7:45 p.m.)

• Location: Akron Zoo

• Akron Children's Staff on-site to answer wellness questions

🎟️ Admission & Parking Information

• FREE Admission to the zoo for the student and two guests.

• Additional Guests: $3 each

• Children Under 2: Free

• Parking: Free

✏️ Kindergarten Registration On-Site

If you have a child who will be 5 years old by August 31st, you can register them for Kindergarten right at the event! Scan the QR code on the flyer to sign up for an appointment.
